Ahascragh Mill dates back to the early 1800’s and up until the 1950’s processed grain into flour. It has been derelict for the past 70 years. McAllister Distillers are restoring this beautiful old mill complex, delivering a world-class whiskey experience and hospitality destination inside a working craft distillery. The proposed project will breathe new life into this beautiful old building and new possibilities for the village of Ahascragh.
The Ahascragh Distillery will be the home of McAllister Irish Spirits. The old mill will be converted into a whiskey and gin craft distillery, in the heart of the village. This eco-distillery will be powered by renewable energy and will have a passion and drive for a carbon neutral operation.
The Ahascragh Distillery will feature a visitor centre, offering tours, tastings and workshops. The visitor experience will showcase the historical interpretation of the Old Mill with a permanent exhibition of the mill equipment salvaged from the building.
Located opposite the distillery, the Old Mill Shop & Café is a part of the McAllister Distillery Ahascragh story. The shop and café will serve delicious food, sell our finest brands while celebrating the history of the Old Ahascragh Mill.
